Every case here was verified by the 2026-09-17 research pass and then checked against CourtListener. "Citing decisions not classified" means exactly that: LegalOS has no KeyCite or Shepard's equivalent and does not pretend to.

Every URL LegalOS is allowed to cite, with its authority level, jurisdiction and verification status. Level 5 rows can only ever support a LIKELY answer.

Sections LegalOS has read at least once, with the propositions taken from them. Point-in-time text versions arrive in Phase 10; dated versions known so far are shown as effective dates.

The legal issues that surprise experienced owners, by persona. Click one to research it with sources. Federal overlay ✔ means a federal rule sits on top of the state answer.

One issue, four columns, no ranking. Runs the research engine in compare mode with sources from all three states plus the federal overlay.

Pick a date and a question. Sources are filtered to those in force or decided by that date; when the database has no version covering the date the answer says so instead of using today's text. Point-in-time statute versions are loaded in Phase 10; until then only decision dates and session-law dates are known.

Federal (IRC, Treasury regulations, IRS guidance, Tax Court and Supreme Court opinions) and the three states, grouped by what the tax does to you. Rows are ranked VERIFIED first, then by source level. Empty groups mean the research has not read a source on it yet — never a guess.

Who can file · what it attaches to · when · recording · perfection · priority · notice · duration · renewal · foreclosure · release · challenge. A cell that says not yet verified is exactly that: no source read on it yet. Each tab lists only the lien types that exist in that jurisdiction — there is no federal HOA, municipal or landlord's lien, and UCC Article 9 is state law, so those rows appear under NJ, OH and MS only. Federal tax liens appear on all four tabs: the state row carries that state's filing statute, the federal rules sit above it.

Per state and ground. Every step shows the propositions read for it, with status and source. Property-specific and case-specific review is always required before serving or filing: subsidized units, local ordinances (Cleveland), rent control and the CARES Act 30-day notice change the answer.

One issue per topic: exposure (company / individual / both), the sourced propositions on file, the landmark cases in that area, and the questions to take to counsel. Never a conclusion that liability exists.

Your dated events (formation dates were seeded from the Companies Registry). "Analyze" asks LegalOS which law was in force at each date, what claim windows or deadlines could have started, and what tax consequences to ask about — only from sources dated on or before each event. It never concludes that liability exists.

Operating agreements, leases, notes, guaranties, purchase and construction contracts, management and vendor agreements, loan documents, deeds. Files go to your private folder in the LegalOS bucket (never a public URL; links are signed for 15 minutes). Text is extracted in your browser for PDFs and text files; the AI treats it as DATA, never as instructions, and any instruction-like text inside a document is flagged.

The nightly monitor on the Mac mini re-reads every Ohio section (hash diff), the New Jersey statute corpus on Sundays, and citing decisions on 20 landmark cases per day (CourtListener). It only ever files NEW · AMENDED · CITED_BY here; OVERRULED / LIMITED / SUPERSEDED are set by a person after reading. Nothing changes a case or statute status until reviewed.

Primary authority first. Every source carries a level: L1 constitution/statute/regulation/opinion from the official publisher · L2 official agency guidance · L3 official court materials · L4 established databases (CourtListener, Harvard case archive, Cornell mirrors) · L5 secondary analysis · L6 AI. A proposition can never display a better level than its best source.

No guessing. The AI may only cite source ids the database has verified. A citation it invents is stripped, logged to your rejections table and the answer is downgraded. If nothing supports a point you will read, verbatim: LegalOS could not verify this proposition from an authoritative source.

Cases. Holdings are stored separately from facts, dicta and practical notes. Status good_law / limited / questioned / overruled / superseded is set by research or human review — never inferred. "Citing decisions not classified" is said out loud.

Historical law. Every question carries an as-of date. When no version covers the date, the answer says so.

Private data (your questions, timeline, documents) is owner-scoped in the database; public law is shared with anyone granted this module. Nothing here is legal advice; every answer ends with questions for your attorney.
